Easter Camp 2018

This year, we will be running special Easter camps for children on the weeks of the school holidays. As part of Healthy Ireland’s Smart Start Programme, we are supporting children’s Emotional Well Being and their Physical Well Being over the two weeks of Easter.

“In partnership with the adult, children will develop and nurture their sense of wonder and awe”- Aistear: Well-being, Aim 3, learning Goal 3.

The schedule for Activities is as follows:

Week 1 – Egg-cellent use of our Energy!

Monday 26th March

Animal Charades, Fun Drumming, Easter Egg Portraits

Decorating an Easter egg tree, Decorating Easter eggs

Science morning: Eggs-periments e.g. invisible eggshells

Making wraps to dress our egg cups for Easter

Creating sensorial boxes & playing Easter themed sensorial games

Tuesday 27th March

Making sock bunnies and Easter bouquets

Playing “Hungry Hungry Hippos!”

Baking, making finger print bunnies

Toss the egg game, egg carton chicks

Training in advance of Fun-Lympics

Wednesday 28th March

Painting with Spring Colours, Easter themed stories

Cookery School

Bunny hop races, chair game challenges, Making Easter masks & hats

Tae Kwon Do with Freda

Thursday 29th March

Pin the tail on the rabbit, making Easter themed slime

Building indoor and outdoor camps

Bringing the Cat in The Hat story to life


Friday 30th March

Easter Party & party games & Easter egg hunt

Face painting, tattoos, balloon modelling

Upside down cone games and cup song

Ball games with Neema

Thursday 5th April

Completing Trocaire Better World Award Activities

“Handa’s Surprise”, “FamiliesFamilies, Families!” & Stories from around the world, children are welcome to bring in books in different languages

Friday 6th April

“Add Friends with our Tea Morning” All children are invited to bring in an old cup and saucer to use at breakfast time for our ‘tea’.

Making Self Portraits, admiring our own image, acknowledging “I Am Me!”

Making a friendship chain recognising inclusion and Well-being

Sharing our new Buddy Bench message “Look up! Look around& look out for each other!”

Friendship games like Ring-A-Rosey, Queenio, Hokey Cokey, Simon Says…

Please remember…Wear play clothes suited to the activities listed & bring in a spare set of labelled clothes. The activities’ schedule may vary from playroom to playroom.
